I've borrowed friend's computer to surf. Tomorrow I will give it back
to him. I will definitely buy one for myself. Why? Because I'd like to
click on your homepage again.
I was surfing and looking for people who seriously study English.
Finally, I've found!!! What's a relief!
I've been living in Vancouver for over two years, and my English has
improved so much. I appreciate my school and myself.
I'm leaving here for Japan in two weeks. And then my concern is
speaking. If you don't speak English a lot, you'll forget it soon. It's
for sure. I bet you. I've bought many books to read, recorded TV
programs to listen. Therefore, they are not big deals (I am good at
grammar). But speaking¡¦¡¦¡¦oh,boy. I will probably go to GEOS or NOVA.
The very next day I get home I will take EIKEN 1 grade because Mom
wants me to. Then she sent a textbook to me. I've finished all of it
within one day. That day I couldn't sleep till eight in the morning,
because my score was too terrible in Section One - the vocabulary part!
I had already known enough that I myself didn't have a lot of
vocabularly. After finishing the textbook I lost confidence in English.
To get it back I soon did a TOEFL textbook. My teachers think I can
score around 600 on TOEFL and I think so, too. Is EIKEN reeeeeally
useful? I know having vocabularly helps us so much. I admit I have a
little vocabulary. But why are there no or only a few grammar questions
in EIKEN? I don't get it!!! For me to pass the second stage of EIKEN is
easy now. I can pass it, however, I have to make the first stage in the
first place. What's a darn stupid system! Well, if what I wrote gets
nerve on you, I apologize. I will probably take EIKEN 1 grade once more.
Next September I'll come back to Canada to start university. I hope I
can keep a good English till that.
Here are some books I recommend. I don't know if they are available in
Japan.
Practical English Usage by Michael Swan
Many ESL teachers have it to teach grammar. It is their
textbook, too.
STREET TALK 1-3 by David Burke
Wanna understand how people speak? There are many
idioms and slang. Real English!
I would appreciate if somebody would tell me good ways to improve
pronounciation. In case, there is my address:
